In the Betweens
The plan of a small existing residence has been reworked with the addition of a new living space, creating an expansive new narrative for this suburban Sydney family home.

The space between the old and the new—the celebrated gap—creates a moment of pause, framing a glimpse of what lies beyond. The gap gently descends from the entry foyer, past a small upper terrace, down a flight of steps, and along a meandering path that opens onto a lower terrace overlooking the bush landscape.

The gumtree-strewn surroundings inspire the soft, earthy tones of the palette, seamlessly connecting the house with its surroundings and creating spaces for quiet living, gatherings, and play.
